Volunteering at Abbotts Ann CE Primary School

We wish you a very warm welcome to
Abbotts Ann CE Primary School

We are delighted to be able to welcome parents and carers into school to support the children’s learning. This can be in several ways: some parents join us on school trips; others support with learning activities in the classroom and some parents listen to children read.

As a Hampshire School, we follow their guidance for safer recruitment of volunteers, which will include an application form, declaration form and Enhanced DBS check for those who are eligible.

Definitions of a volunteer / helper:

Volunteer – able to offer help either once a week or more, or 4 or more days in a 30 day period and satisfies the Enhanced DBS application criteria. In this case an application form and a DBS check will be required.

Helper – able to offer occasional help less than stated above.

A helper offering occasional or one-off help on a trip, is defined as not in regular activity and under the Government guidance we are unable to apply for an Enhanced DBS certificate. If parent helpers are required on trips, this will be communicated via the trip letter, so please ensure that you register your interest if you are able to help.
