Good Morning Owls Class!

I hope you are all well and you have had a good weekend.

Following the announcement by the Government last Sunday, It's been an interesting week for schools.  As most of you will already know, the government are intending for Year 6 pupils to return to school from 1st June 2020 providing the spread of the Corona Virus continues to fall.  We will be busy in school making plans for this and preparing the school for your return alongside YR and Y1.  If you have any questions you would like to ask about this, or about anything at all, please do not hesitate to drop me a line on the Owls email or phone the school and leave a message for me.  I will call you back as soon as I can.

It's been lovely to hear from a few more of you this week.  Please do keep in touch by sending in photographs or work, questions or just to say 'hello' on the email.  I miss you all very much and when I see a new message on the inbox I feel really happy!

Year 5

Maths

This week you can have a go at multiplying and dividing decimals, subtraction of decimals and word problems before recapping multiplication of 4 digit numbers.

English

The week begins with the wonderful picture book 'Eric' by Shaun Tan looking at modal verbs.  Later in the week, you will be looking at the incredible 'Caged Bird' by Maya Angelou.

Year 6

Maths

You start the week by looking at time including time intervals, reading timetables (a VERY useful skill as you become more independent!) and calculating journey times.  Later on in the week you will be moving on to solving equations and algebra.

English

Similarly to Year 5, you start of the week looking at the wonderful picture book 'Eric' by Shaun Tan before moving on to Roald Dahl and some poetry work.

Good Luck!  And keep in touch,

Mrs White
