I hope you are all well and enjoyed a lovely weekend. This week we continue to learn about 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and I hope you have lots of fun acting out the story with your family and writing your own version of it. We will then be reading and enjoying the story of 'Jasper's Beanstalk' by Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen. I would like you to sequence and retell this story and learn or make up some rhymes and songs based on this lovely book. In Maths we will continue to learn about pairs of numbers that make 10 (and then 20) and also measure objects and distances using hand spans and metres. You will continue to watch your bean grow and record any changes in your bean diary and also take part in a simple experiment to find out how roots in a plant work.
I have really enjoyed speaking to some of you on the phone last week and I aim to phone everybody learning at home by the end of this week. It is so lovely to once again hear your voices and catch up with your news. The children in school have settled well and we often talk about our friends learning at home and we look forward to the day we can be together. I hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy all the gardening, digging and planting! I look forward to hearing about your week and receiving all the wonderful photos and messages. Take care everyone. I am so proud to be your teacher! With love from, Miss Swift.
